The college football season is underway -- Go Bruins, Utes and Rebels! -- and the talking heads are all stirred up over their Heisman and 2022 NFL draft predictions. Many are forecasting that Oregon pass rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux will go number one in the draft and his name has also been tossed around as a Heisman contender. (Yes, I know this award generally goes to an offensive player, but hey, Charles Woodson got it.)

So, of course, I enjoyed today’s Leadership & Development story about veteran NFL agent Andy Ross. Seeing how the job has evolved over the years and what he’s had to do to remain successful -- nurturing relationships, defending his fee and being judicious about signing new prospects -- was fascinating.

Because it details what career trajectory looks like. It’s not a straight line. Twists, turns, trials and triumphs are all part of the game. And success goes to those who can pivot and keep up.
