Dear Reader,

Aside from your family, what could you not live without?

Your phone? Car? Favourite TV show?

You could probably live without all of them if push came to shove.

But you couldn’t live without trucks.

Without trucks, Australia’s economy grinds to a complete halt within a few days.

I knew truckers were doing it tough after the pandemic.

But I only recently found out just HOW bad things had gotten in the trucking industry...

It’s in a real crisis right now. There’s a massive labour shortage...they have a huge demographics problem...operational costs are going through the roof...and hauliers just can’t hire decent drivers, no matter what they offer to pay (some starting salaries are as high as $150k right now, and still not enough takers).

COVID restrictions and mandates dealt a huge blow to the industry, as tens of thousands of drivers quit. The prospect of automation is putting a lot of younger drivers off from entering the industry. And ‘net zero’ is likely to put many operators out of business entirely.

You might think: ‘what have trucks got to do with me?’

Everything.

Trucks are responsible for food and fuel deliveries across Australia...not to mention medical supplies.

No trucks equal no construction...no farming...no garbage collection...no commodities exports.

You watch how quickly our economy tanks when the trucks fall silent...see how fragile the fabric of society truly is.

News.com.au ran a headline a few weeks ago. It read: ‘Australia’s truck industry facing imminent collapse.

These are strong, heavy words. Yet nobody seemed interested.

But you should be. Because when you start looking into this, and really see what’s happening...you realise that your standard of living is under serious threat.

And you realise that you need to do something about it...soon.
