| | The Olympic Forest is growing With the first 70,000 seedlings planted, the Olympic Forest is officially growing and contributing to Africa’s Great Green Wall initiative!
While some 600,000 native trees will be planted over four years across 90 villages in Mali and Senegal –host of the Youth Olympic Games Dakar 2026 – the Olympic Forest project is about more than planting trees.
Discover how the project hopes to contribute to local communities’ livelihoods, restore degraded land and food sources, and absorb 200,000 tonnes of CO2.
