Covid pandemic response key to cutting crime, says Scottish expert

Crime could be dramatically reduced in Scotland if the justice system considered it a public health issue, according to the woman who helped to tackle Glasgow’s knife culture.

Speaking to Gina Davidson, Karyn McCluskey, chief executive of Community Justice Scotland, said the preventative measures deployed during the Covid pandemic could equally be applied to justice as she also raised concerns about a move away from restorative justice in the Scottish system.
