More Baton Rouge news inside
with Kelly P. Kissel | Metro editorThanks for checking in with us this afternoon. Here's what we're working on today. Mall pythonA 12-foot Burmese python named Cara has captured the attention of Mall of Louisiana patrons, but no has captured her. The snake escaped from an enclosure at the Blue Zoo aquarium sometime Tuesday, it appears, and hasn't been seen since. Lara (not to be confused with Cara) Nicholson is chasing the story for us, and reports here. And it's times like these that bring out the best of the internet. There's been no shortage of snake puns and snake jokes, and some of those are captured here. But, again, no snake. State Police, againOur former Advocate colleague Jim Mustian, now with The Associated Press, is out today with a story about the FBI seeking a review of the autopsy performed on a north Louisiana motorist at the center of an investigation into Louisiana State Police practices. It's here. Fairly good newsThe Greater Baton Rouge State Fair will return in October after missing last year due to the pandemic. The fair will run from Oct. 28 through Nov. 7.
