| | State support for manufacturing tech Good evening, Baltimore. I hope your week's off to a great start. It might be made even better if you're a manufacturer looking to upgrade your tech. Today, Gov. Wes Moore unveiled $1 million in funding for Maryland's Manufacturing 4.0 program. This strategic initiative champions Industry 4.0 technologies, seamlessly blending advanced digital tools like IoT, AI, and automation into manufacturing processes — with a focus on small to mid-size manufacturers. By fostering digitization and automation, the program aims to enhance competitiveness and efficiency. Previous grant recipients utilized funds for innovative projects such as 3D printers and robotic systems. In the upcoming round, grants will cover 50% of project costs, ranging from $25,000 to $500,000. Interested folks can submit applications until October 18 at the Maryland Department of Commerce's website. Do you know of any companies that already benefited from this program's prior funding round? If so, let us know by replying to this email, and stay safe amid tonight's storms. — Technical.ly reporter Alanah Nichole Davis ([email protected]) | | | | By Kids with specific career dreams and exposure to the education necessary to achieve those dreams are more likely to end up in an in-demand job than kids with vague dreams.
