Dear Supporter,

Meet the snow leopard - the ghost of the mountains.

Found across 12 countries such as Afghanistan, Bhutan, China, and Russia, snow leopards are masters of camouflage and expert climbers, making them perfectly equipped for mountain survival.

However, there's thought to be as few as 4,000 snow leopards remaining in the wild, who are under increasing threat from habitat loss, poaching, retaliatory killing, and climate change.
From Bhutan to China, this remarkable species plays a key role as both top predator and serves as an indicator of the health of its high-altitude habitat.

If snow leopards thrive so will countless other species, as well as the millions of people whose livelihoods depend on the rivers flowing down from the mountains of Central and South Asia.

To learn more about this elusive big cat, Tshiring from WWF-Nepal retraces a journey back to her birthplace in remote Dolpa, Nepal, in search of the snow leopard, bringing us some of the most amazing snow leopard images and videos. Read as she works with her community to save this world’s threatened big cat.
