Hitting back: New Orleans' garbage pickup problems have been in the news a lot these days. But now the owner of one of the firms that have been lambasted for poor service across the city is firing back, casting blame for much of the trouble on Mayor LaToya Cantrell’s administration. Jail shakeup: Following a rough summer at the New Orleans jail, Orleans Parish Sheriff Susan Hutson announced a pretty dramatic shakeup Wednesday. 'Rogue' frat: Really interesting story out of Baton Rouge about a "rogue off-campus fraternity" at LSU. The university has warned students to avoid associating with it. But, as this story from Elyse Carmosino spells out, there's only so much the university can do. Coach Oh!: Speaking of LSU, you can never say the Tigers' former football coach isn’t great for a quote. Coach O was in rare form recently, even making a joke about his firing – and the $17 million thrown his way to exit the building. Skating away: In the late 1800s, roller skating apparently was all the rage in New Orleans. I know, right? Who knew! Mike Scott, writer of stories about cool old buildings, probes the history today of a Prytania Street you might be familiar with, aptly called “The Rink.” Thanks for reading Lunch Line today – and remember, you can keep up all day long at NOLA.com.
