The future is looking brighter and brighter! We’re buzzing with excitement and are hopeful that we’ll be able to meet each other in the Valley and throw our hands in the air on 14 August! Every day there’s news about the virus and the current developments. And while we’re still under strict measures, there’s more and more room for positive news too. The vaccine program is being carried out at a rapid pace and the government’s current expectation is that all vulnerable people who are susceptible to hospitalization will be protected by the end of June. This will hopefully relieve the pressure on hospitals and caretakers, leaving room for society to move freely again. Besides that, the first results of the test events are very encouraging. They’re succeeding in finding the people who are contaminated beforehand to make sure an event doesn’t become a super-spreading party for the virus. Another great development is the corona check app. This app can be used for entrance testing and enables visitors to show a QR code proving their negative test results and making sure they’re not contagious. The developers are currently working on giving a ‘green light’ in the app when you’re vaccinated. That way, the person checking the app upon entry will not know whether you’ve had the vaccine or tested negative, you’ll just get a green light to enter either way. We are very hopeful and positive that Dance Valley 2021 will happen in a safe and responsible manner – without keeping a 1,5m distance or dialing back on visitor numbers. We will keep you posted on all developments, but we feel like we will be seeing each other again on 14 August!
