A conversation with the actor and activist and Benyamin Cohen, the Forward's news director and author of The Einstein Effect In Benyamin Cohen's new book, The Einstein Effect, he interviews people from all walks of life who are inspired by Einstein – including actor Mandy Patinkin. Einstein launched the International Rescue Committee to save his fellow German Jews from the Holocaust, and it remains one of the largest refugee aid organizations in the world. Patinkin, a long-time refugee activist, is the organization’s ambassador. |

The Yom Kippur War, which took place from Oct 6–25, 1973, is considered Israel’s most influential war. At this special event, we will discuss its implications for Israeli society, national morale, and politics. We will also take a look at how the war affected the Middle East, and how such a brutal war led to a historic peace agreement with Egypt only six years later. A live band will accompany the conversation, playing Israeli songs from the 1970s. |
