We have done a great job of collecting Incident Reports but that can still leave us with the overwhelming question of “So how do we know where to apply our improvement efforts?” “We can’t fix everything – maybe we should start with the easy stuff, or maybe put all our effort in that one big issue. Help!”
The next big step is prioritizing how and where we take actions. That is what converts all our Incident reports into real meaningful actions which we are counting on to improve safety and efficiency. If we get this step wrong, we can miss out on the benefits of all those reports, constipate our system, end up wasting precious resources or possibly even make things worse.
In this session, we will focus on multiple approaches to prioritize where you make your improvement actions and how you can build an “Improvement Portfolio” that is cost effective, regulatorily aware and defensible to your leadership.
