Sometimes itâs easy to forget the impact that seniors and juniors have on college basketball.
Dear subscribers,
Over the weekend, Michigan men's hockey captured the Big Ten Tournament title after defeating Minnesota, 5-3. After a three-year gap, they will be returning to NCAA tournament play against Notre Dame Friday. Michigan women's gymnastics also won their 22nd Big Ten Championship. Women's basketball defeated Bucknell to advance in the WNIT. In this week's Sports Monday column, a look at how this year's NCAA Tournament experience bodes well for the future of Michigan men's basketball next year. And finally, the first annual University Living Lab Symposium made child development research available to the larger community.
All the best,
The Michigan Daily.
Last week, Michigan walked away as the team that barely scraped up enough points for a third-place finish at the Big Five Tournament. This week, the Wolverines walked away as Big Ten champions.
Friday night, the Wolverines, a No. 2 seed in the Midwest Regional, will take on No. 3 seed Notre Dame, while No. 1 seed North Dakota and No. 4 seed Northeastern round out the regional in Cincinnati.
First established at the Boston Museum of Science in 2004 by museum professionals and child development researchers, the Living Lab studies behavioral and cognitive development in children.
The Wolverines overcame an off night from Katelynn Flaherty en route to a 95-72 win over Bucknell.
