With a wide range of business and on-campus job closures emerging in light of the COVID-19 outbreak, many studentsâ on-campus jobs have been left in limbo.
Iulia Dobrin, staff reporter of The Daily, talked with several students to discuss their challenges and struggles with on-campus job uncertainty.

This week, students lose jobs resulting from on-campus closures, Governor Whitmer suspends K-12 schooling for the rest of the year and Ann Arbor residents hope for rent relief in wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak, many students across campus have returned home and must social distance, per national and state guidelines.
The Daily reporters Jasmin Lee and Varsha Vedapudi talked to various students who discussed the psychological challenges of social distancing and being away from friends and classes.
Following Michiganâs âstate of disasterâ declaration, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has issued an executive order requiring all K-12 school buildings to close for the remainder of the school year.
While schools are closed, district facilities are open for use by public school employees and if safe social distancing is practiced.
In a virtual press conference Tuesday afternoon, Michigan Medicine presented research and projections identifying when the state would experience the peak of the COVID-19 outbreak.
In addition, Michigan Medicine announced plans to convert an indoor University of Michigan track facility into a field hospital to accommodate for projected cases.
With the spread of COVID-19 forcing businesses to close and jobs to be suspended, many have been laid off, creating struggles to pay rent.
Brayden Hirsch, staff reporter of The Daily, talked to several students on campus who hope that landlords will offer rent relief in wake of the pandemic.
