In what has since become a viral internet video, one man asked a Latinx parent, who is the owner of Ann Arbor restaurant Chelaâs, at a Saline Area Schools community meeting why he had come to the United States instead of âstay(ing) in Mexico.â
Daily reporters Julia Rubin, Brayden Hirsch and Emma Ruberg talked to students and Saline Area community members on the impact and implications of this incident and other conversations surrounding diversity, equity and inclusion in the district.

27-year-old medical student and congressional candidate, Solomon Rajput, is challenging an 85-year-old political dynasty currently led by Rep. Debbie Dingell, D-Mich.
Inspired by figures such as Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y. and Rashida Talib, D-Mich., Rajput is advocating for fighting climate change, rejecting corporate PAC money and passing a Green New Deal.
The Ann Arbor District Library hosted the stateâs only satellite Iowa caucus, open to Iowa residents living in Michigan. The final delegate count resulted in Sen. Bernie Sanders, D-Vt., and Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., each winning two delegates

Formerly incarcerated University students and staff still face discrimination and stigmas on campus.
After an 87-69 loss in January, the Michigan menâs basketball team bested the 16th-ranked Spartans 77-68 this Saturday.
Making his way back to the starting lineup after a groin injury, junior forward Isaiah Livers put up 14 in the Wolverinesâs win.
