with Matthew Albright | Assistant metro editor

Good morning. Let's get your week started off with some of our most interesting reads from the past few days.

Coaching carousel in overdrive

The Ed Orgeron era officially ended Saturday night, and LSU has yet to announce his replacement. The list of big-name hires is shrinking rapidly.

Yesterday, two coaches got scratched off of LSU's rumored short list: Oklahoma's Lincoln Riley accepted the job at the University of Southern California, and UL's Billy Napier took the Florida job.

Stay with us for the latest.

Turning a life around

Michael Blanton knows what rock bottom feels like. At one point, he was so consumed by addiction that his mother said she didn't recognize him anymore. Many of his friends died, and he ended up in prison.

But he found God behind bars. And, while sleeping in an unlocked school bus after he got out of prison, he promised himself he would turn his life around.

Here is the inspirational story of how Blanton did that, and the life of helping others he has built for himself since then.

The Human Jukebox storms the internet — again

Southern University's marching band is no stranger to internet fame. This time its getting shoutouts for its soaring rendition of Adele's long-awaited new song "Easy on Me," performed during the Bayou Classic in New Orleans this weekend.

Check out this video of the performance, and see how Adele herself gave the Jukebox props.

Thanks for reading, and have a great week!
