But as with malls across the United States, its glory days are in the past. Now a consultant has come up with recommendations for the site, the leading suggestion being to do away with the mall and convert the property to a mixed-use site with single-family houses, townhouses, parks and businesses. SECOND CHANCE: After spending half of his life in prison for a fatal nightclub shooting in Slidell, former No Limit rapper McKinley “Mac” Phipps Jr. was granted parole Tuesday. Louisiana state officials praised him for mentoring young inmates and pursuing vocational training during his time in custody. The founder of No Limit, meanwhile, has his eye on a new job. Master P wants to coach the New Orleans Pelicans. WHO'S PLAYING JAZZ FEST?: The lineup of performers for the 2021 New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival will be announced later today.
