Letter from the editor:

We're wrapping up our year-end lists (only a few left) and it has given me time to reflect on all that has happened during this tumultuous year.

First of all, I have to say I have never been prouder to be a part of the art community. While there are many pressing issues facing our community, artivism has — among other things — helped remove an alleged war profiteer from the Whitney Museum's board, and scrubbed the Sackler name from various institutions that previously helped artwash the family’s opioid riches.

This year, the scope of art exhibitions and projects taking place around the world have been incredible — just check out our Best Of lists to get a taste. While art can often reflect and comment on larger cultural trends, this community continues to get creative in the ways it influences and drives change.

I have a good feeling about 2020. How about you?
