OnePlus 12 review: the new Android phone to beat in 2024
| The OnePlus 12 kicks things off for the new year of smartphone releases. Is it worth the $800 asking price? | Although the OnePlus 12 debuted last December in China, it’s now available globally, along with its more affordable sibling, the OnePlus 12R. The OnePlus 12 fixes some of the shortcomings of its predecessor and proves to be a strong contender among the competition from Samsung, Google, and Apple. And for the price, you get a lot of value with this flagship device. The OnePlus 12 comes in two colors: Silky Black and Flowy Emerald. For this review, we received the Flowy Emerald color, and it’s absolutely gorgeous. Aluminum alloy and glass make up the chassis of the OnePlus 12, and it feels hefty and premium. Netflix launched an ad-supported tier in November 2022 and revealed on Tuesday that it now accounts for 40% of all Netflix sign-ups in markets where it’s available. It said that the number of ad-tier subscribers grew almost 70% quarter-over-quarter. The company also revealed that it now has a record 260.8 million paid subscribers after adding 13.1 million (also a record) since the previous quarter, due in part to a crackdown on password sharing ... | |

Apple Car could arrive in 2028 but with limited driverless capabilities
| The Apple Car may never make it to production, but if it does, don’t expect to see it until 2028 at the earliest, a new report says | The so-called “Apple Car” is back in the news after Apple tipster Mark Gurman said in a Bloomberg report that the tech giant has switched to a less ambitious design for its automobile that its original plan. At the start of the project some 10 years ago, Apple was believed to be working on building a fully driverless electric car. But then it watered down its ambition by planning a vehicle with advanced driverless features mainly for highways. Now, the Cupertino, California-based company has pivoted again with a new plan to create an electric vehicle with even fewer self-driving elements, Gurman claimed, adding that it's currently working on a car with “basic driver-assistance features in line with current Tesla capabilities” ...
