The Patterson Mill girls lacrosse team is headed to the Maryland State Class 1A Championship. The Huskies, whose only other state final trip came in 2009, were tied 1-1 briefly with the McDonough Rams, but an 8-0 run led to an easy, 17-4, state semifinal win.

On an afternoon where the 143rd Preakness stakes took place roughly 45 miles away, the Patterson Mill Huskies boys lacrosse team stampeded through the McDonough Rams, 17-4, in their class 1A state semifinal matchup at James R. Harris Stadium in Havre de Grace.
