Dear John, I wish I could select the right words to communicate the deep appreciation I have for you. Perhaps the simplest way is also the best way: Thank you! St. Francis was hardcore, and he radically lived the Gospel, inspiring millions to reevaluate their lives and take great steps in faith. My team of Franciscans, both friars and laypeople, continue the work he started over 800 years ago in Italy. We’re also dedicated to spreading Franciscan values in the United States, just as the friars of the Province of St. John the Baptist did 127 years ago in their response to the needs of growing immigrant communities. And though the world we live in is quite different than the one our province’s founders ministered to, the need for people to hear the good news of Jesus Christ is more important than ever. Over the past 15 days, you have met some of the individuals behind Franciscan Media who help share God’s love in the spirit of St. Francis. I am blessed to work with these talented and dedicated men and women. Franciscan Media strives to meet you where you are and provide that thoughtful message you need to hear in that moment. As I mentioned in my first email, “Franciscans go to the heart of the matter.” In a world full of divisions and tragedy, your support allows Franciscan Media to promote Christian values and spirituality.
