Good morning Voornaam, Today is the first day of the rest of my life. With an immense personal strain behind me, I look forward to making Ghost Mail better than ever before. If you have any suggestions (and I mean any), I would love to hear them! One of the things I love most about Magic Markets Premium is digging into company strategies and how those companies are responding to industry trends. To celebrate 100 Magic Markets Premium research reports and shows, Dominique Olivier spoke to us about some of the things we've found most interesting on this journey. In part 1, she covered the Swiss watch crisis (with reference to Swatch), how Google is such a powerful gatekeeper online (with reference to Tripadvisor) and the concept of tractors with internet (thanks, Deere & Co). You can read it here>>> Enjoy the rest of the content and have a great day!

In this brand new episode of Magic Markets, we welcomed Garth Mackenzie to the show to talk about the art of trading. Thanks to B2IT, you can learn about trading in bull vs. bear markets and the different types of traders in the market. Garth has a wealth of experience in this space and as a podcast host himself, it was guaranteed to be an enjoyable discussion. No wonder it went on for longer than usual! |

| There have been winners on the local market, if you know where to look. The question is whether those winners can keep winning. I covered Spur, The Foschini Group and CA Sales Holdings in this piece for EasyEquities. |

TreasuryONE Market Update With little in the way of geopolitical developments, the rand found some relief and dipped below the R19 level in the afternoon. The news headline of Reserve Bank Deputy Governor Kuben Naidoo resigning has had little impact on the rand. It does, however, leave a gap in the possible replacements for Governor Kganyago when his term ends. Gold is trading at around $1,976 this morning and Brent Crude is slightly above $90 per barrel. TreasuryONE has released a new weekly market review. The video is embedded below, or you can watch it on YouTube here>>> |

Textainer looks to be shipping out Another day, another buyout of a JSE-listed company. This means that a delisting is on the table, with Textainer shareholders celebrating an offer that represents a premium of 46% to the closing share price last week. After 16 years on the market, Textainer is about to ship out. In a fun bit of corporate finance, the deal with Stonepeak as the offeror includes what is known as a "go-shop" clause, which gives Textainer 30 days to poke around the market and see if a better deal can be found. In addition to this, Ghost Bites brings you what you need to know about Datatec's excellent results, production numbers at Sasol and South32, junior mining news at Europa Metals and Southern Palladium, regulatory approval for a deal at Richemont that is as farfetched as the name of the counterparty and finally, an update on Kibo Energy's joint venture. Get it all here>>> |
