 February 17, 2021  Texas isn't used to this cold. Neither is its power grid. The last few days have seen millions of Texans without power thanks to a winter storm that's engulfed the entire state. That storm was the result of icy arctic air slipping past the jet stream and making its way south. It's not a situation that Texas was prepared for — but that's going to be more and more likely thanks to climate change, Hayes Brown writes.
"Right now, we’re living through a massive shuffling of the cards when it comes to our planet’s weather systems," Brown writes. "In this interregnum between what came before and the end result of the Anthropocene’s massive transformation of the globe, the only constant will be unpredictability."
