A Fort Worth firefighter was injured in an overnight crash. Police said a fire engine was headed toward a fire in the downtown area when it collided with an SUV near Sundance Square. The SUV rolled over, but the driver was not hurt. A firefighter who was in the engine was taken to the hospital with a cut to the head. Police said the SUV may have run a red light. The driver was cited for failing to yield to an emergency vehicle.

PHOTOS: Firefighters are looking into what caused a massive blaze in southwest Houston overnight Monday. Initial details were the Houston Fire Department was called to a vehicle storage facility on Minetta and Fondren near Missouri City around 1:45 a.m. for a car on fire. Responding firefighters soon found several cars covered in flames and called for additional reinforcements. We're told it took about a half hour to get all the flames extinguished. It's unclear what caused the vehicles to catch fire and no injuries were reported, but HFD's arson investigators were called to the scene.

On March 29, at 4:44 p.m., the Richmond Fire Department responded to a mulch fire at Frank's Nursery in Richmond, at the 300 block of FM 359. According to officials, nursery crews were attempting to control the fire on a large pile of mulch by chipping to spread the pile. The fire spread, prompting additional resources and mutual aid for water assistance. On March 30, at approximately 7:50 p.m., the fire flared significantly, prompting a request for mutual fire aid assistance for water. Efforts to cool and dismantle the pile are ongoing, with the fire expected to burn for 2 to 3 days. Air quality is being monitored and no evacuation orders have been issued.

VIDEOS: The El Paso Fire Department responded to three brush fires along train tracks in South-Central El Paso on Saturday afternoon, March 30. The fires are now extinguished, fire officials said. The fire happened a little after 1 p.m. near Copia and Interstate 10. No injuries or property damage were reported, said Battalion Chief Fernando Zeh. Zeh said that when firefighters originally arrived, the found two fires along the train tracks and then discovered a third. The fires burned brush and trash along the tracks. Witnesses said they saw sparks from a train and that is what is believed to have started the fire, Zeh said. Eight fire trucks responded to the fires.

PHOTOS: A massive fire ripped through an apartment building in Lomita on Saturday, causing the second floor to collapse as huge flames damaged the entire structure. Firefighters were dispatched to battle the fire, located at the Vista Verde Condominium complex in the 2000 bock of Palos Verdes Drive, at around 6:40 p.m., according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. In all, they say there are around 150 firefighters engaged with the blaze. After burning for nearly an hour, the roof of the building appeared to have collapsed in on itself due to the raging fire. LACoFD Public Information Officer Craig Little said that the second floor collapsed onto the first, creating additional complications to their ongoing firefight. Crews could be seen battling the large flames that were shooting forth from the roof of the building with SkyCal overhead.

PHOTOS: A man has been hit with several charges, including DUI, after crashing into a Chesterfield fire truck that was responding to another emergency on Interstate 95 Saturday night. Four people were injured in the crash, including two firefighters. According to Chesterfield Fire & EMS, just before 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 30, a county ladder truck was positioned to block traffic on I-95 South near the Willis Road exit due to an accident. Virginia State Police (VSP) said the right lane and right shoulder were closed at the time and the truck had its lights on. An approaching 2019 GMC pickup, driven by 25-year-old Juan Sara Cruz, changed lanes and struck the driver's side of the fire truck, according to VSP. Fire officials said Cruz was also driving at a high rate of speed.

VIDEO: A man has been taken into custody after a massive fire that destroyed a house in Hamilton Township on Friday afternoon. According to the Hamilton Township fire chief, crews were dispatched to a fire and a man with a gun in the 800 block of Sunrise Ridge Court around 2 p.m. The man proceeded to have a standoff with police for around an hour before firefighters could begin to knock down the flames. Once police took the man into custody, fire officials worked to contain the blaze, though the fire chief said the house is a complete loss. The fire chief also said that a woman was inside the house, but left when the fire started. There were no injuries in the fire. Houses on both sides of the house on fire sustained damage as well. At this time, police have not identified the man taken into custody.
