The exhibit is a replica model of the World Trade Center plaza created by Daan Van Der Steijn from Deurne, The Netherlands. The tagline is, "Remembering the One. Remembering Them All." Flames Burst From Burning Tire Shop In New York; No Injuries, Firefighters Say VIDEO: Flames and smoke filled the sky during a fire at a tire shop in Brooklyn early Friday morning. The FDNY is still trying to figure out how the massive fire on Church Avenue at East 57th Street in East Flatbush started, CBS2's Jenna DeAngelis reported. Cellphone video shows the blaze. Fire officials on the scene said racks of tires and debris were burning. "It was very scary because the fire started at 2:30 and by 2:37, when I called 911, the fire was, it was like a tornado," said Valerie Darden, who worried the flames would reach the McDonald's where she was working. A customer alerted her to the fire, Darden said. "I was in the drive-thru, and the customer said, ‘There's a fire.' I looked and I said, ‘Sir, you can have your coffee, we're closed,' because I had to call 911. I didn't know what to do," she told DeAngelis. WCBS-TV CBS 2 NEW YORK Vandalism mars South Carolina fire station dedicated to 9 killed in 2007 furniture store blaze VIDEO: Vandals defaced the city of Charleston's Fire Station No. 11 in West Ashley on the eve of the anniversary of the deadly Sofa Super Store blaze. City officials said at a news conference June 17 they would not allow the crime to overshadow the June 18 anniversary of the fire, which killed nine Charleston firefighters in 2007. "This fire station, it's very special," Mayor John Tecklenburg said. "It's right next to the Sofa Super Store, where nine valiant firefighters gave their lives. It's, in a way, a part of our continuing tribute to them and memorial to them." Charleston police officers were dispatched the morning of June 17 to the yet-to-be-open station at 1835 Savannah Highway after learning of damage to the property, according to an incident report. A fire battalion chief told the officers the building was struck by gunfire several times. Jay Young's children will attempt to celebrate Father's Day as well, but the whole family knows it may not happen. With Jay's three sons, Eric, Justin and Jamison, following in their dad's footsteps to become emergency medical technicians, it's as likely as not that one of them will get called into work or a pager will go off and they will have to leave the party to go save a life or help someone in need. It's a lifestyle they've learned to live with — and to love — since making the choice to serve as part-time EMTs in addition to their regular day jobs. "You get used to it. You don't get much sleep sometimes, but you find that patient outcomes are the most important part," said Jamison, a registered nurse at Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire. EMS1 Florida fire department among first to use Ring doorbell for fire safety VIDEO: The Pinellas Park Fire Department is among the first in the Tampa Bay area to team up with Ring for a new safety system. Ring's "Neighbors" application allows first responders and community members who download the app to easily exchange information about local incidents. Leaders with the Pinellas Park Fire Department tell 8 On Your Side it could be a helpful tool when investigators are searching for the cause of suspicious fires. "We're arriving at the scene after the fire is out and it's hard to get answers to those questions. But how amazing would it be if we could actually get those answers as they were starting," said Jillian Rose with PPFD. Using the app, investigators target a specific area around the incident and send an alert to everyone who has the app. Detectives can ask for video and information. She was sent to a rescue in Florida called Dogs Playing for Life, where workers started working to train her. However, she still had a lot of energy and they started looking for ways she could express it in a positive way. So, they reached out to Throw Away Dogs Project to evaluate her and see if she could be trained to be a law enforcement K-9.
