How Effective Are Your Allergen Control Measures?

Regulations require employers to control exposures to hazardous substances to protect employees' health.

Our Allergen Monitoring Service can help you to assess the efficacy of those control measures, inform your risk assessments and identify high risk activities.

Laboratory Animal Allergens (LAA)
Consistently ranked amongst the top causes of occupational asthma, these allergens are susceptible to becoming airborne and contaminating surfaces or clothes leading to sensitisation of individuals and allergic symptoms.

Food and Agrochemical Allergens
HSE has had extensive experience in monitoring exposure to these allergens, with established methods for fungal alpha amylase, wheat flour antigen and soya trypsin inhibitor.

Industrial Enzymes
Proteases, lipases and amylases are widely found in cleaning products and can cause allergic reactions such as sneezing and coughing as well as more serious symptoms such as tightness of the chest and shortness of breath.
