We've got a lot of great stories in the works for y'all today. Here's some of the most interesting reads so far:

Flooding furor in Ascension

The ongoing tensions over flooding and traffic in Ascension Parish flared up again Wednesday night.

Just hours before a moratorium on the approval of new construction went into effect, the parish planning commission approved several new neighborhoods, including the controversial Delaune Estates. They did so despite fierce pressure from many residents.

Our reporter was there for the tense, three-hour long meeting. Here's what happened.

Problems paying the rent

To be able to pay the average, market-rate rent on a two-bedroom apartment in Baton Rouge, you need to make $19.50 an hour, a new report says. That's a problem for a lot of people: The median hourly wage in Baton Rouge is $19.24 an hour.

This story explains what the picture looks like across Louisiana and how the COVID pandemic caused even more problems.

Going festing!

The full schedule is out for Jazzfest. Click here to see which days Stevie Nicks, the Beach Boys, the Foo Fighters and all the other big acts are going to be playing.

Meanwhile, there's a whole bunch of cool music events in the Baton Rouge area this weekend. Check out this list to find your jam.
