Happy Friday, and welcome to the Saints Insider newsletter for May 25, 2023. The Saints wrapped up the first week of organized team activities Thursday. Although there was no media access to Thursday’s practice, we still have you covered on the latest news. New Orleans native Foster Moreau, who signed with the Saints during free agency, was among the players who practiced this week. That may come as a surprise considering the tight end was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma just two months ago. Moreau, who played at Jesuit High School and then LSU before playing four seasons with the Raiders, spoke to the local media for the first time this week. Here is my column on what the past two months have been like for Moreau. Saints reporter Terrin Waack caught up with guard Cesar Ruiz, who is rehabbing from a foot injury. Here is the latest on Ruiz and his recovery. Here's a strange but true story for you. The Saints and division rival Tampa Bay Buccaneers are in a dispute over the word “krewe.” The Saints want to change the name of their cheerleading squad from the Saintsations to the Saints Cheer Krewe. However, Tampa Bay calls its fan club the “Buccaneer Krewe.” Our Doug McCash gives you more insight on the dispute over a word. Well, that’s all for today. Be sure to check NOLA.com’s Saints page for more updates throughout the day. As always, thanks for reading. Enjoy your weekend. Cheers. Rod Walker |
