The Lunch Line: Taking the pulse of restaurant row. Expect long lines at the airport

By Bob Warren

Restaurant Row: An interesting thing happened to Freret Street over the past decade. The stretch between Napoleon and Jefferson avenues has boomed, blossoming into a “restaurant row.” Our restaurant guy Ian McNulty takes the pulse of Freret today.

Flying? Flying this holiday? Expect large crowds and big-time traffic snarls at Louis Armstrong International Airport, where officials are expecting the busiest travel week since the start of the pandemic, Tony McAuley and Gabriella Killett report.

Frying? Speaking of holiday warnings, if you plan on frying a turkey (and we know a lot of folks do) you might be interested in our annual cautionary story and video of what can happen when things go south. Please be careful, folks.

Who said it? Finally, Sen. John Kennedy’s been in the news lately. (Here’s what columnist Stephanie Grace wrote the other day.) This classic, “Who said it: Sen. John Kennedy or Foghorn Leghorn” is making the rounds again. Good luck with the quiz.

Hope you enjoyed the Lunch Line. Thanks for taking a break with us today.
