A message of hope from the Capital

A giant rainbow was beamed from Edinburgh Castle across the Scottish capital to send a message of love, hope and kindness from the city to the rest of the world.

The night sky above the city was transformed by the multi-coloured laser beams as the 'Global Rainbow' art installation, which is also intended to pay tribute to NHS staff and other key workers.

Did you see it? Take a look at the stunning display here.

NHS staff in Scotland offered 4% pay rise

Speaking of our NHS staff, the Scottish Government has promised more than 154,000 of them a pay rise of at least four per cent.

“Our NHS staff deserve more than applause and one per cent is not enough," said the First Minister Nicola Sturgeon on Twitter.

The pay rise would see the average pay of an front line NHS Nurse rise by over £1,200 a year.

Find out more about the plans here.
