Djeran brings a welcome relief from the heat as temperatures cool, and winds shift to the southwest. Clear signs we've entered the Nyungar season of adulthood include cooler nights and morning dew. Keep an eye out for the onset of vibrant red flowers, like those on the Red-flowering gum (Corymbia ficifolia), and the red 'rust' and seed cones on Sheoaks (Allocasuarina fraseriana). As the season progresses, nights will become cooler and damper, occasionally accompanied by cool, rainy days.
