While they experience the same hardships as others, those experiences are shaped "by the Bible's message of hope." Utilizing the Human Flourishing Index, which asks respondents about topics related to happiness, satisfaction, health, relationships, finances and more, results showed that Christians received an average score of 7.8 compared to 6.9 for non-practicing Christians and 6.7 for non-Christians. | Americans increasingly agree there are only 2 genders | | Sixty-five percent of Americans believe there are only two genders, up from 59% in 2021 and 62% in 2022, according to research from the nonpartisan research organization Public Religion Research Institute. Belief in a gender binary increased among all demographic groups except for Latter-Day Saints at 81% (compared to 82% in 2021) and black Protestants at 71% (compared to 73% in 2021). The move comes after an investigation from The Wall Street Journal and researchers at Stanford University and the University of Massachusetts Amherst found that users could search Instagram using hashtags such as "#pedowh**e" and "preteensex" to connect to accounts advertising child-sex material. | Churches address racial unity during 'Unity Weekend' | | Over the weekend, 141 U.S. churches participated in an initiative to boost racial harmony. Pastors utilized Unity Weekend to share the Bible's messages on healing and unity, pointing out that many of society's issues today were also found in the Bible. Read more. | | Pastors see armed congregants as part of security plans | | Nearly four out of five U.S. Protestant pastors say their church has some sort of security measure in place when they gather for worship, per a study from Lifeway Research. Findings also showed that 57% have an intentional plan for an active shooter situation. | Megachurches dominate top-25 worship songs in last decade | | A study from Worship Leader Research shows that 37 of the 38 worship songs that appeared on the Christian Copyright Licensing International and PraiseCharts top-25 lists from 2010 to 2020 were co-written or popularized by one of five megachurches. The single exception was Phil Wickham's "Great Things." However, the researchers noted that his successful collaborations with Bethel Music, one of the five listed megachurches, "preceded the song's release."
