Earlier today we came across a disturbing newly release statistic - Tel Aviv overtook Paris as world's most expensive city to live in. Though it may sound almost glamorous, this statistic is a troubling indicator of the financial struggles people are currently experiencing in Israel. The soaring prices in the most populous Israeli city are attributed to the disruptions in supply chain and severe shortages, according to Upasana Dutt, head of WCOL at EIU. Sources further report that this trend is expected to further accelerate in the coming year. We are now half way through this wonderful Festival of Light! The soaring prices are taking a toll on the most vulnarable in Israel, so to keep their spirits high, we just hosted a Chanukah event to support the elderly and engage the youth with our community (image above). We at Feed Israel try to do our best to mitigate the financial challenges from this lasting pandemic. This winter, too many families and individuals will find themselves deprived of food or heat. |
With this new set of challenges we have to prepare to create the greatest impact and help the suffering. We sent out our volunteers to 14 cities throughout Israel. So far they delivered Winter Packages filled with heaters, blankets and meals to 4,429 needy families. |
We helped a lot of people in despair, but there are many more that will be left cold and hungry this winter. |
Our goal is to deliver a total of 10,000 Winter Packages to needy families by the end of the year |
