Good morning, everyone. How are you? A bit anxious, perhaps? I can feel it in the air myself. There's not much going on here. The streets aren't empty, but they're definitely emptier. There are people stalking the streets for toilet paper and Lysol wipes, of course. It's a different place now, though. People are worried about the coronavirus. Times like this call for serenity. They need a calm, measured, decisive leader. Why not you? If you have a family, then you know this. You understand the importance of weathering the storm with resolve, of being the person your family can latch onto when chaos approaches. A parent dies, and you're the one who sets up the funeral. The power goes out, and you know where the flashlights are. Any high-stress situation requires at least one of those people if it's to resolve. Why not be that person? Even if it's just you living alone or with roommates, there are people looking at you. Looking to you. Be that rock in the storm. Look, maybe this isn't even a storm. Maybe everyone's overreacting and it'll all be over soon. I don't know enough to say either way. All I know is that the energy in the room is different, a bit strained. And whether "right" or not, people around you are going to worry. Take a deep breath (through your nose, with your diaphragm) and calm your nerves. This, in turn, will calm everyone else's nerves. We're still animals who can sense anxiety in others. Break the chain of anxiety. Spread serenity. Tell me, folks, what are you doing to promote serenity in yourself and your environment? You don't even have to be worried yourself, just recognize that others are worried and, maybe, you can do something about it. Let me know in the comment section of WLL. Take care, and be well. |
