This was the IETM Aarhus Plenary Meeting 2023 On 12-15 June we gathered in Aarhus, Denmark with over 450 participants, partners, speakers, moderators, artists and volunteers to discuss the green transition in the performing arts sector. From engaging talks and thought-provoking debates to captivating performances and immersive artistic experiences, the four day meeting held a range of innovative workshops and fruitful networking activities. On 28-30 November, IETM will head to Luxembourg for our second IETM Focus Meeting, co-organised with Kultur | lx – Arts Council Luxembourg. The meeting will address the one topic we all have to face - the climate crisis. This final event in IETM’s first year of environmental transitioning will bring members and professional guests together for a joint brainstorm where participants will benefit from the targeted programmes and accumulated knowledge gathered by the network through all its activities in 2023. Pre-Meeting Trip to Esch-sur-Alzette In the afternoon of Monday 27 November, take the opportunity to get to know the cultural actors of Luxembourg, deepen your understanding of its arts and culture scene and gain valuable insights into the local context through a visit to the former 2022 European Capital of Culture Esch-sur-Alzette.
If you’re a theatre maker, producer or festival coordinator, join us in Kosovo on 24-29 October 2023 for the very first time to explore the performing arts scene and cultural reality of Prishtina during the Kosovo Theatre Showcase 2023. We especially encourage you to register if you have a particular focus on theatre programming, producing or distribution activities. Registration deadline: 2 October 2023 (or when maximum capacity is reached).
IETM Job opportunity: Production Manager of Events IETM is looking for a full-time Production Manager for its events. The Production Manager manages the delivery of all IETM events in close collaboration with co-production partners, other team members of the IETM Secretariat and more broadly, the IETM membership.
The Production Manager is the main representative of the IETM Secretariat in the co-creation of event programmes and manages and ensures a day-to-day smooth and effective flow among the multiple tasks and stages of each event’s creation. Application deadline: 4 August 2023
Open Call for internationale tanzmesse 2024 internationale tanzmesse nrw (Germany) invites professional contemporary dance artists, companies, professionals and organisations to submit proposals for the Performance Programme for the edition 2024. The upcoming Tanzmesse will take place 28-31 August 2024 in Düsseldorf. Read all the application criteria and apply by 15 September 2023.
Call for circus artists under 35 - FINC Comedy Festival 2023 Theatre Degart (Italy) is looking for artists under 35 creating new comedy creations of contemporary circus to include in the programme of the second edition of the FINC Comedy Festival 2023, taking place in December 2023 in Taormina, Sicily. International Summer School of Documentary Theatre From 25 August to 7 September 2023, Archa Theatre (Czech Republic) will organise an international summer school in Prague which offers artists from all across the globe a two-week period of free experimentation using documentary theatre tools. On 9 June, Culture Action Europe organised “Beyond the Obvious: Handle with Care | Culture for Social Well-being in Elefsina, Greece. The event brought together practitioners, policymakers, researchers and activists to explore the ethical and political obligation of care in our societies and the potential of culture to fulfil this role. A key focus of the discussions was the evidence supporting the positive impact of culture on health and well-being.
