With a career spanning 25 years and almost 20 albums, Charlie Hunter consistently ups his game as an innovative writer and bandleader. He has worked with the likes of Norah Jones, Mos Def, John Mayer, D’Angelo and countless others. He is widely considered the authority on the seven and eight – string guitar, and continues to stun audiences with his ability to simultaneously bust out tasty bass parts, melodic leads and swinging rhythms.

This 7-time Grammy-nominated pianist and recipient of the Smithsonian lifetime achievement award will be appearing at Dazzle with his primary touring band Quarteto AfroCubano. Omar Sosa fuses an array of jazz, world music, hip-hop, and electronic elements with his AfroCuban roots for an evening of music that will make you feel at ‘home.’

Iconic Grammy Award winning guitarist John Scofield teams up with pianist Gerald Clayton, bassist Vicente Archer, and drummer Bill Stewart in Combo 66, a new band that builds upon Scofield’s long legacy of masterful improvisation and stylistic diversity. Since the late 1970’s, Scofield has been a major influence on jazz, continuously finding new and exciting avenues to reinvent himself as an artist. In recent years, Scofield won two consecutive Best Jazz Album Grammy Awards for Past Present and Country For Old Men – for which he also won the Grammy Award for Best Instrumental solo – and has received resounding critical acclaim for his 2017 release Hudson with all-star bandmates Jack DeJohnette, Larry Grenadier, and John Medeski. Now, joined by three formidable artists in their own right, Scofield’s new band showcases an intricate interpretation of jazz’s limitless direction.

Dazzle presents two nights of solo performance with Armenian pianist Tigran Hamasyanran Hamasyan. Fresh off his 2018 EP For Gyumri, a companion to last year’s An Ancient Observer, Hamasyan will take to Dazzle’s stage for the first time utilizing piano, voice, and electronics to create a strikingly original sound that is guaranteed to be a rare treat for Colorado listeners.

Dazzle is excited to welcome back one of the world’s most innovative drummers, Mark Guiliana. In October of 2017, his Jazz Quartet graced Denver with a night of beautiful acoustic music. With his return this November, he brings us a new project entitled Space Heroes. The group features longtime collaborators Chris Morrisey on bass, Jason Rigby on tenor saxophone (both members of the quartet just mentioned), and to everyone’s surprise, a second tenor saxophonist Mike Lewis (of Bon Iver fame)
