Sugar Mill Pond in Youngsville is going to double in size

Good Monday morning, Acadiana business news readers. Let's get to the headlines. 

I spent the last two weeks digging into the construction happening south of the current Sugar Mill Pond. First developed in 2004, it's a main reason why Youngsville has grown into the one of the fastest-growing and wealthiest areas of the state. 

Currently home to about 550 homes and 2,000 residents, the development is expected to at least double to about 1,200 homes and 5,000 residents when work is complete in six to eight years, project co-developer Jordan Daigle said.

What does that also mean? The commercial environment should pick up in a big way.
