Dear John Do,
The German Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) has deemed DESY's X-ray light source, Petra IV, a “research infrastructure of national importance”. Petra IV, the world's most powerful X-ray microscope, is to be built in Science City Hamburg Bahrenfeld. Read our report to learn about DESY's plans and the significance of this development for Germany as a centre of science.

And in other good news for Hamburg, the new startup factory “Impossible Founders” has secured a grant from the German government.

Sincerely,
Hamburg News Editors
