The Front Page: Weaponizing police, Elsa perks up, no shame on Hard Rock

By Drew Broach | Deputy metro editor

WEAPONIZING POLICE: So embarrassed was Sanai Butler when a Lula's Restaurant Distillery representative confronted her about her attire that she's been seeing a clinical psychologist since then. That's what her mother alleges in a new lawsuit against charging that the New Orleans eatery 'weaponized' police by summoning officers for help.

COMEBACK STORM: Elsa regained hurricane strength Tuesday as it neared Florida's Gulf Coast. The storm also gained speed as it bore down on Tampa.

NO SHAME: The developers of the ill-fated Hard Rock Hotel are suing New Orleans over a new measure that would restrict the height of future construction at the site of the building collapse. They allege it’s a politically motivated ploy from City Council member Kristin Gisleson Palmer. Said Palmer: "This is a frivolous lawsuit from a corporation that refuses to take accountability for its actions."

All this and much more are in today’s Front Page and on NOLA.com. Thanks for starting your day with us.
