Lafitte looks forward: Nearly two years after Hurricane Ida, roughly 150 families in Lafitte are living in temporary trailers, the local high school remains closed and many of the canals and bayous are still clogged with debris. Blake Paterson sat down with Mayor Tim Kerner Jr., who still has big plans for the town's future. More trouble in the oilfield: Cox Operating LLC, a Metairie-based oil company that’s one of the largest independent operators still working Louisiana's coastal waters, has filed for bankruptcy protection. As Stephanie Riegel reports, the filing could have a domino effect involving dozens of service and supply companies already facing hard times. Fines, bans for FNBC board members: Several former directors of First NBC Bank have been banned from serving on any federally-insured bank boards, and some have been fined. Regulators took action saying the board members failed to act on warnings ahead of the bank's $1 billion collapse in 2017.
