By Bob Warren Crime is again the big focus. Mayor LaToya Cantrell and Police Superintendent Shaun Ferguson will hold forth later today to talk about crime. We’ll be there of course. Today’s news conference comes as some City Council members have turned up the heat. It also comes on the heels of another high-profile crime, this one involving a thief stealing an SUV Tuesday while the driver filled up with gas at Costco. Ramon Vargas wrote about it and will follow up today. Saints search: It’s gotten a bit quieter on the Saints head coach search. Columnist Jeff Duncan weighs in with his thoughts and in keeping with the new fascination with sports betting, is handicapping the race. Meanwhile, Aaron Glenn is scheduled to interview today. McDonogh Three: The “McDonogh Three,” the young girls who integrated then-McDonogh 19 Elementary School in 1960, now have a historical marker along Louisiana’s Civil Rights Trail.
