Stocks sink as Tesla leads tech shares lower

U.S. equity markets were under pressure Tuesday as the bruising sell-off in technology shares continued for a third straight session. The Nasdaq Composite fell 3.6% in the opening minutes of trading as mega-cap tech stocks Alphabet Inc., Apple Inc., Amazon Inc. and Microsoft Corp. all traded lower. The Dow Jones Industrial Average, meanwhile, slid 432 points, or 1.54%, while the S&P 500 was weaker by 1.89%.
