The Lunch Line: State Police shooting in Metairie. And can we safely gather for Thanksgiving?

By Bob Warren

Thanksgiving is back: So many folks bagged Thanksgiving gatherings last year, what with the pandemic raging. But this year, less of that pecan pie will be shared via Zoom. Cases are falling, more people are vaccinated. Thanksgiving, Emily Woodruff and Mega Wyatt report, is back - but maybe with some precautions.

Turnovers, Taysom and teetering: Mondays are bad enough, right? But today marks the third week in a row the water cooler talk will be about what went wrong with the Saints. We've got turnovers (three of 'em doomed us), Taysom (here's why he didn't play) and teetering (Jeff Duncan says we are...).

But if you're looking for some happy Saints news, we've got you covered. It's Drew Brees week and Devin Jackson offers up this collection of some of his finest moments.

State Police shooting: State Police said one person is dead after a shooting late Sunday night in Metairie that involved State Police. Details were really scarce this morning. We'll be following this story today.

99 cans of beer on the wall...: “Catfish” John Kahl had a passion for beer cans. He collected thousands of them, and “Catfish” John's widow tells our Doug MacCash those cans should be with someone who'll cherish them like her husband did.

Great NOLA.com offer: This is Thanksgiving week, which means it’s time for Black Friday sales. We’ve got one of our own – and it’s a great deal.

Hope you enjoyed the Lunch Line. Thanks for taking a break with us today.
