I can’t believe it’s almost 2020! I was just getting used to writing 2019, and here we are, ready for another spin around the sun. (I still remember the turn of the century, but now I’m dating myself.)
Not only are we on the cusp of a new year, it’s also a new decade! I find these fresh beginnings motivating. They’re a time to take stock of the past and plan for the future. If that’s what you’re doing, I want to direct your attention to a few resources that are worth considering. The first is Starting a New Ministry. Is there a program or initiative that you’ve been dreaming about launching? This resource will help you get it off the ground. Also, check out Strategic Planning. The advice here will enable you to tackle ministry in the New Year with clarity and intentionality.
Starting a New Ministry If you're new to a ministry, or if you're involved in a start-up ministry, these articles will help you gain traction as you start the hard work of leading a ministry. About half of the articles focus on what to do if you're new--resources for picking up an unfamiliar role. The remaining articles will give you a foundation for what to do if the ministry is new. Don Cousins, Ed Dobson, Robert Kemper, and more Read More
Strategic Planning An important theme for any church, this theme starts with an interview with Peter Drucker, an expert in organizational management and structure. Responsible planning requires wisdom, direction from the Holy Spirit, and willingness to make difficult choices. Strategic Planning will help your ministry team grow in each of these areas by offering helpful assessment tools and discussion questions to give shape and direction to your team meetings. Peter Drucker, Stuart Briscoe, James Emery White, and more Read More
