Ironing hack + slow cooker meal recipes
| I worked in community services working with homeless and vulnerable young people. Iâve seen the impact of families living rough. Every day on the radio I am hearing stories of people doing it really tough with the cost-of-living pressures and rental crisis. How many times have you walked past someone on the street and wondered how you could help? If you can knit or crochet, afford to buy a beanie or blanket, or have a sleeping bag you donât use, weâd love you to join our mission to provide comfort and warmth to those in need. Weâve partnered with The Salvation Army and Country Womenâs Association of WA to keep Perth warm this winter and weâd love your help to spread the kindness. Want to help? Here are some ways you can make a difference: Collect items at work Organise a knitting circle Popping a beanie or blanket on your shopping list Clear out that closet for that sleeping bag you donât use If youâre wondering if Iâm a knitter â I dabbled in knitting when I was a kid, watching my mum stitch beanies and scarfs together. Itâs been a long time since I tried my hand at the knitting sticks so I am hoping that listeners will come onboard and help me out. Who knows I might even finish my first ever Freo Dockers beanie by the end of the campaign! Stan Shaw Breakfast presenter on ABC Radio Perth | | |
