I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Studies (with an emphasis in art and psychology), and a Master's Degree from Brigham Young University in Communication Disorders. I married, worked as a Speech-Language Pathologist, and became a mother of two children before deciding to pursue art with intention. After the birth of my second child, I suffered through several months of severe postpartum depression. One day, while walking through the living room with a basket of laundry on my hip, the words, "You should start painting again," came clearly to the forefront of my mind. I promptly began painting each day, and as I did so, the depression slowly lifted. I studied naturalistic drawing and painting at the Masters Academy of Art in Springville, Utah, from 2016-19, where I've been a fortunate recipient of multiple student scholarships. I've also received scholarships from the Portrait Society of America and the Vision of the Arts Fund. Within the past few years, I've started showing my work publicly, and have been grateful to be included in exhibitions held by the Springville Museum of Art, the Yellowstone Art Museum, the JKR Gallery, the Alliance of Covenant Artists, The Masters Academy of Art, The Religious Academy, Anthony's Antiques and Fine Art, The Inspirational Art Association, The Logan Fine Art Gallery and The Church History Museum. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or comments. I'm always happy to chat about art! Creating Art is about Creating Magic.
