Exhibitor Spotlight: Julie Picarello

with Yellow House Designs

This week’s Exhibitor Spotlight is Julie Picarello of Yellow House Designs. Julie’s passion grew in 2004 when she first learned about polymer clay. Now, her focus is using polymer clay for jewelry, and she finds the combinations of shape, color and texture lend themselves to unique wearable art. Julie’s designs are always reflecting her love of color, symmetry and clean lines, yet also allow for a bit of whimsy by incorporating metal tubing, hardware, semi-precious gemstones and vintage found objects. Julie focuses on creating joy and fulfillment in every piece she creates. Review her website before you stop by her booth at the Bead&Button Show.

Share Your Bead&Button Show Pins for

Our 20th Anniversary!

We know that many of our Bead&Button Show friends love collecting the commemorative pins that are available at every Show, each with a unique design and special memories. As we count down to the 2020 Show, please join us in reflecting on the past 20 years by sharing your Show pins in fun and creative ways with us on Facebook and Instagram.

Do you have a special way to display or store your pins? Have you incorporated a pin into a jewelry design? Or do you just love wearing your pins on a favorite lapel? We’d love to see your collection, whether it’s one or all 19 pins!

Between now and June, we’ll share each of the Show’s 19 pin designs on our Facebook and Instagram feeds, starting with the first. With each pin we share, we’ll invite you to post your own photos. Make sure to tag us and use the #ShareYourShowPins so that we can see your posts. We’ll share some of our favorites and select one each week to spotlight in the Bead&Button Show newsletter!

Emerging Artist Scholarships Announced for 2020 Expo

We have extended the application deadline to March 31st! The jewelry-making community is a vibrant, ever-changing one, with fresh products, ideas, and talent surfacing all the time. With that in mind, the Bead&Button Show has launched a scholarship to give up-and-coming jewelry artisans a boost and bring new faces into the mix.

The Emerging Artist Scholarship will give selected jewelry artisans the opportunity to sell their original work at the Bead & Jewelry Expo June 4-7, 2020, in Milwaukee, WI. Scholarship winners will receive a table in the Artisan Pavilion for a deeply reduced rate of $100. The application deadline is has been extended to March 31, 2020.

“We realize it can be expensive to sell at a large event like the Bead&Button Show, especially for those who are just starting out,” said Show Director Sara Dumford. “So, we created a scholarship to offset the cost of space in the Artisan Pavilion for those who haven’t been in the marketplace long, and who would otherwise have difficulty participating.”

To be eligible for the scholarship, artists must sell original products they have created; must demonstrate that they have been selling at shows or craft fairs for no more than two years; and must meet specific guidelines for online sales. Complete details and an application form are available on the Bead&Button Show website. Learn more…
