Despite possessing a relatively modest defense budget, the Philippines is engaged in an ambitious recapitalization and expansion of its air power capabilities.
 
Defense white papers are all too often filled with lofty aspirations later left unfulfilled. When Australia released its most recent such document in February 2016, it appeared to contain a similarly optimistic projection for the country’s defense budget over the next decade. 
 
Taking into account other defense-related spending such as funding for the Armed Forces Development Program and military pensions, total defense spending is projected to reach around PKR2,300 billion, or $14 billion, in real terms by that time, an increase of roughly 13% on the allocated budget for 2021-22.
 
The Vision Jet is a very-light-category business jet that is produced by Minnesota-based Cirrus Aircraft. Vision Jet is the commercial designation of the company’s SF50 type, a type that received FAA certification on Oct. 28, 2016, with the first delivery taking place on Dec. 20, 2016.
