My name is Yariv Nitsani. I am a 41-year-old reservist serving in the armored patrol of the 179th Brigade. I have been through quite a few wars in my life—the Second Lebanon War, the Intifada, and Gaza—but the events of October 7 were unlike anything I have ever experienced.
After a difficult year, both nationally and socially, a unity through shared land, devotion, and sacrifice has been reborn in Israel—on the front lines and at home.
The donations, help, volunteering, and giving I witnessed were beyond anything I have ever seen. Time after time, I was moved to tears.
We, the IDF reservists and regular soldiers, are obligated to be sent to fight. But all of you at Meir Panim - are not required to contribute, assist, or give.
That’s the incredible difference. It’s what makes people like you an indescribable asset to our country.
You give and give without expectation of reward—this is humanity. To make another person cry tears of joy and relief—this is what is so marvelous.
I want to thank you. Your actions bring me to tears of happiness because I am more confident than ever about what—and who—I am fighting for.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Thank you for being a ray of sunshine in this dark time. I wish for good days ahead—for the rebuilding of Israel! |
