Prior to the pandemic, Kevin and his wife Patt traveled the country with a bucket of worms. It has definitely been a series of memorable adventures! When airport screeners inspected his worm bucket, Kevin shared his archived official tweet from the Transportation Security Administration that stated, “Earthworms are allowed through security.” He’s staged worm races everywhere: bookstores, schools, libraries, science museums, even farmer’s markets. During one worm race at Wild Rumpus Books in Minneapolis, Kevin had to block not only the bookstore cat, but also the bookstore rooster from getting too close to the racing worms. California Academy of Sciences doesn't permit outside worms, but they provided him with a bin of their own homegrown red wigglers to share with audiences.
