| | Space Program Will Cost $25-30 Billion Over Five Yearsby Aviation Week Network Staff The total national space program over the next five years would cost $25-30 billion and the civilian space budget will increase $4-5 billion a year by Fiscal 1963 under President Kennedy following his decision to race Russians to the Moon. On page 25, our Washington Roundup reported that Kennedy had said at the National Conference for the Peaceful Uses of Space that the strategy of his Administration for gaining wide public acceptance of the great cost of space exploration was becoming evident. |
